Our Hokkaido Coat was inspired by the Japanese prefecture itself. Known for its vast forests and mountainous terrain, Hokkaido is home to some of the harshest winters in Japan. When we set out to create our own version of a balmacaan overcoat, there were certain classic features we wanted to include, such as raglan sleeves and a traditional length. We also added a few details of our own to ensure that this is the one overcoat you need to take you through the toughest winters, whether that be in New York, Hong Kong, or Hokkaido itself. We used a subtle, yet adjustable, belt system with buttons hidden securely inside the lining, and found a dense quilted liner that can be buttoned in for the coldest winters or removed for transitional months.
The hand-warmer pockets and adjustable cuffs are sure to keep your hands protected when tucked away. Made from dense wool by Marling & Evans, this overcoat is sure to keep you warm deep into winter.
The Armoury Hokkaido Coat fits true to size, we suggest choosing your normal tailoring size for the best fit.
