Cohérence’s founder, Kentaro Nakagomi, takes inspiration from the wardrobes of legendary artists, designers and historical personalities. For these highly researched models he goes to great lengths to find the perfect components, such as commissioning custom fabric for specific pieces. As one of the first places to stock Cohérence in the world, we developed a longstanding relationship and several exclusive pieces.
Aside from Cohérence’s outstanding classic overcoats in their main collection, there is also their stylishly Bohemian Sarrau collection full of casual but highly detailed pieces inspired by the legendary characters who once wore them. These trousers take inspiration from Alain Gerbault, a French sailor, writer and tennis champion, who single-handedly circumnavigated the globe. Alain Gerbault wore this particular design during his competition win in Cannes in 1920. The trousers feature single pleats and a full leg, a fishtail back with buttons for suspenders and a thin self-fabric ribbon belt.
Made in their exclusive selvedge 10oz Logger Denim, taking inspiration from the denim fabrics worn by US Navy sailors from the 1940s. As with all Coherence garments it is made with a fine attention to detail with exceptional quality hardware.
The Alain Trouser fits full and we suggest choosing your normal size or one down for the best fit.
