The Armoury’s Jim Parker talks us through the inspiration behind these American made shoes and how to wear them.

Alden have been making shoes in Massachusetts for well over a hundred years and their work is appreciated around the world, not least at The Armoury.
Our collection of exclusive styles draws inspiration from America’s unique aesthetic and the small towns that helped define it.

Parker Boot
This is the fourth iteration of my namesake boot. I think it's proven so popular for us because it checks so many boxes: sleek enough to wear with tailored trousers and a sport jacket, while rugged enough to handle New York’s unpredictable Fall weather.

Springwater Boot
I spec'd this boot to be soft and as comfortable as possible. Throw these on with jeans, a down filled vest, and a flannel shirt, then head to your local. My favorite happens to also be Tennessee's oldest bar, the Springwater Supper Club and Lounge.

Tivoli Blucher
A couple years back I visited Tivoli, NY, and the little town has stuck with me ever since. This blucher is meant for quaint towns like Tivoli where you can spend all day exploring antique shops and walking amongst the beautiful foliage. Later, shrug on a tweed jacket over your cords and head out to dinner.

Ithaca Loafer
The city of Ithaca is such a great mix of high and low. It has the polished Ivy League stoicism and world-renowned dining scene but retains it’s rough-around-the-edges outdoorsiness. My Ithaca College alumn friends call it a bit "crunchy." I wanted the Ithaca Loafer to reflect that unusual mix so I took Alden's classic penny loafer and paired it with an unexpected alpine grain leather.
