We take you through some of our favorite places to eat and drink in Florence, Italy. Illustrated by our in-house illustrator Richard "Dick" Carroll.
For almost a decade The Armoury Hong Kong and New York teams have traveled to Florence each season for the semi-annual menswear gathering at Pitti Uomo. These are a few of our favorite spots we've discovered over the years.
"For some, this might be the place to go look at the famous signatures or photos on the wall, but for me this is a place of respite from non stop Bistecca of Florence. Be sure to try the simpler pastas, the famous butter chicken and save some space for 'the bomb'!"
— Alan See
Via del Porcellana, 25/R, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
“Pensavo Peggio is definitely one of my go-tos during Pitti. Their carbonara pasta is so satisfying that it leaves me in a food coma every time. You won’t regret your time there if you’re a pasta lover like me. It’s also a favorite of the Liverano team.”
— Jan Tong
Via del Moro, 51, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
"Harry's Bar is my go-to after a long day at Pitti. It's generally quieter, you can smoke a cigar outside and the head bartender makes a great gimlet!"
— Mark Cho
Lungarno Amerigo Vespucci, 22/R, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
“Italy is gelato and for me gelato in Firenze is La Carraria. Make sure to try the cherry flavor, it's the... bomb”
— Alan See
Piazza Nazario Sauro, 25/r, 50124 Firenze FI, Italy
"After a few days at Pitti of rubbing shoulders with some of the best dressed guys in the world, I need a rough around the edges palette cleanser. Joshua Tree is exactly that: Good beer (including my favorite, Murphys!), loud music, and tattooed dudes in faded metal T-shirts."
— Jim Parker
Via della Scala, 37/r, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
“With a city steeped in heritage, traditional restaurants and old world architecture, Locale is an oddity — modern in many ways, particularly the amazing cocktails that their mixologists have to offer”
— Alan See
Via delle Seggiole, 12/red, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
