In 1997 at the age of 60, José Albaladejo founded Carmina Shoemaker with the goal of creating some of the world’s best hand-crafted shoes. In pursuing this goal, Albadalejo continues a prestigious family tradition of almost 150 years of shoemaking, drawing on skills passed down to him through several generations of shoemakers. Carmina has established eight exclusive shops (in Paris, St Petersburg, Marbella, Bilbao and Palma de Majorca, and three in Madrid) and competes with some of the best shop displays in Europe, Japan and the United States that showcase the most distinguished English shoemakers.
Carmina’s line features beautiful hand-crafted, Goodyear welted shoes in a variety of leathers. Each shoe is made using the traditional Goodyear stitch, is submitted to a strict quality control process and is made by a team of skilled craftsmen who carefully handle each stage of production. The entire process lasts between 15 and 20 days, which allows them to ensure the highest levels of quality. Carmina respects the differences and irregularities of the materials used, and their philosophy of work is based on craftsmanship, making every shoe truly unique.
