Yasuhiko Kobayashi - Wakamono no Machi (Young Streets) (1973)
Yasuhiko Kobayashi was one of Japan’s first menswear illustrators and an early contributor toMen’s Club. But he made a name for himself in the late 1960s by traveling overseas and covering the counterculture for a column in_Heibon Punch_magazine called “Illustrated Reportage.” This 1973 book collects some of those columns — sketches on one page and short essays on the other. This is an important document of both the Western and Japanese countercultures.
