Two of the most important menswear publications in post-war Japanese fashion history. These catalogs are massive collections of 1970s American material culture: clothes, shoes, tools, musical instruments, etc., etc. etc And their publication sparked the “Heavy Duty” outdoor boom in the mid-1970s, put brands like Levi’s and Red Wing in the pantheon of iconic American brands, and generally kicked off the mass importation of vintage American clothing to Japan. The editors went on to found the magazinePopeye.
